Reading data and local storage

Readmate is designed to keep reading content on the user's device whenever possible. Books, highlights, notes, reading records, and other reading content used by Readmate are stored locally rather than uploaded to or stored on Whitesspace servers. The WeRead API Key used to connect the app is stored in iOS Keychain. After the first successful sync, locally cached books and highlights can be revisited and searched without an internet connection.

Services outside the local reading library

The website and app may rely on platform, analytics, attribution, or distribution services described in the complete privacy policy. Those services can process limited technical information under their own privacy terms. Readmate's local-first reading-data boundary should not be interpreted as a claim that every website request or every third-party service operates fully offline.
